Cross My Heart by Kay Wyne

Cross My Heart
60"x 20" Oil on Linen Gallery Wrap
This size canvas is really cool.  It is very vertical, and if you have the right wall space, this canvas might work for you.  The paints were applied with a palette knife, so there is alot of texture on the linen.  I have purposely left the natural linen peaking through, giving the eye a rest.  Thanks for viewing this blog....kay@kwyne.com.

Tree Art by Jill Saur

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."
- Khalil Gibran

My 8"10".5" oil palette knife and brush painting, "Relinquished", is richly textured on the trees, revealing their "bone structure" against the value tones of winter. The title suggests that place in life where we relinquish ourselves and open up our hearts and minds to fresh inspiration and new possibilities.

I love aspens in winter. Their beautiful white trunks and dark branches mingle with the dark shadows cast upon the white snow, creating a profound beauty that is best experienced in silence.

This painting is available to purchase by contacting me through my website.  - Jill Saur

Blazing Transitions II - New birch painting by Niki Gulley

Blazing Transitions II ©2012 Niki Gulley
48" x 36" • Textured painting on canvas

I used to love it as a kid when my parents would take me to the forest preserves near our home outside of Chicago. We would spend the whole day bike riding, picnicking and being immersed in nature and I relished this time with my family. In Blazing Transitions II I wanted to recreate those warm memories, choosing reds and yellows of autumn to heighten those happy feelings and using energetic strokes with my paint reminiscent of a carefree, simpler time.

Heightened Awareness III - New aspen painting by Niki Gulley

Heightened Awareness III ©2012 Niki Gulley
48" x 36" • Textured painting on canvas

In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up in into the treetops and the heavens above. I chose vibrant, cheerful yellows contrasted against a violet blue sky filled with big, puffy clouds. And, by arranging the aspens in a circular pattern heightened by thick, curving paint strokes, that joyful, playful feeling of hope and discovery are enhanced.

Trees In Art by Jill Saur

Aspen trees and birch trees on canvas are my favorite subject to paint!  These trees are brilliantly white and intoxicating in their beauty.

This 48"x36" brush and palette knife acrylic painting is titled, "Promising Journey".  I usually add a path in my paintings to take the viewer on a journey where they can imagine themselves walking amongst these vibrant trees, right into their own future!

This original painting is available by contacting me through my website, and if you are not ready to purchase an original work of art, I also offer this in a limited edition hand-embellished giclee.  I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that uplifts and inspires your soul!

Estes Park, Bear Lake Painting by Jill Saur

Estes Park, Colorado, is one of America's treasured National Parks that I hope to return to someday.  If you ever get a chance to visit, be sure you spend a day up at Bear Lake!  We came away with some incredible photos for me to use for subject matter to paint.  This 11"x14" acrylic painting, "Autumn Inspiration" is inspired by one of my walks up at Bear Lake. The aspens were just beginning to change.  The brilliant hues of the quaking leaves, against the azure sky, captured my spirit.
This  expressive painting is available by contacting me through my website.  I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that inspires and uplifts your soul! - Jill

Spring Gallery Walk, Dallas - Niki Gulley at American Fine Art

"Traversing Splendor" ©2012 Niki Gulley
48" x 60" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

I wanted you to feel the joy and peacefulness of walking through the forest ablaze with color on a beautiful autumn day. With soft light illuminating the walkway and the distance sparkling in golden light, the only sounds to be heard are the crunching of fallen leaves underfoot and a slight breeze flickering the leaves overhead. What lies ahead? The mysterious glow from beyond beckons you forward.

American Fine Art Featuring Niki Gulley - April 21st

“Autumn Gems” ©2012 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 36” x 60” textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

JUST SOLD! I wanted this painting to be about the power and energy in nature to invigorate your spirit, so I chose to use warm vivid colors and thick staccato strokes to add to that feeling. I placed the foliage in diagonal sweeping shapes to create a sense of movement, and so that you can feel the wind gently rustling the leaves and causing them to dance.

Happy Times by Kay Wyne

Happy Times
10" x 10" Oil on Gessoed Masonite
Palette Knife Painting
Here is another contemporary aspen painting. As I was posting it, I realized that it is appropriate to dedicate it to my husband, John. Today is John's birthday, and I wish him a Happy Birthday! Our children got busy in the Henry's kitchen last night and made three homemade pizzas for his birthday dinner....Wes was throwing the dough, Blake was chopping the veggies and meat, and Lindsay was putting it all together. She also baked a wonderful blackberry cobbler for desert. Happy Times for sure. Happy Birthday, John Wyne! Contact Kay for more information on this painting.....kay@kwyne.com or 214-532-0325. Trees In Art by Jill Saur

My original aspen tree painting, "Abundant Memories", is a 36"x48" acrylic painting on a wide border canvas, with the sides painted, eliminating the need for a frame.

When I work on these large canvases, I first execute a warm under painting to give the entire canvas a glow that will translate through to the finished piece. In the daytime, my work is bold, vibrant and full of life. In the evening, it emanates a warm glow, creating an ambient focal point for the room.

This painting is currently available to purchase by contacting me through my website. Thank you for viewing! www.JillSaurFineArt.com

You Color My World by Kay Wyne

You Color My World
8" x 16" Oil on Cotton Panel
This contemporary aspen painting is drying, and I will be getting it framed up. I will probably put a wide silver moulding on it. This color palette that I used has more green in it than I normally like to use. I was very careful not to get a muddy green when I was mixing colors. I wanted a clean and bright yellow-green that looks fresh and makes you think of springtime. I used the palette knife of this one. Thanks for looking at the art on this blog.
