"Aspen Cathedral " 48x72 Oil on Canvas framed in blonde wood shadow box

This painting has been through a lot of travel. It is now safely back at my home and ready to hang on someone's wall.

Golden Aspen 36x48 Oil on Canvas Mark Malone

This is another foray into my Aspen Series. I really like the way this piece turned out. When painting it, I mistakenly picked up a tube of burnt sienna instead of Van Dyke Brown when working on the trunks. I realized my mistake pretty quickly, but liked the way it was coming together. Frequently, I will have such happy little accidents. This piece has been accepted for entry into the Artists of Texas show this fall at The Dutch Art Gallery, here in Dallas. Wish me luck!

I do not know why I felt compelled to put in a rock formation on the right, but I did. The jury is out on this one.
