Aspen Tree Painting by Jill Saur

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."
- Khalil Gibran

My new 8"10".5" oil palette knife and brush painting, "Relinquished", is richly textured on the trees, revealing their "bone structure" against the value tones of winter. The title suggests that place in life where we relinquish ourselves and open up our hearts and minds to fresh inspiration and new possibilities.

I love aspens in winter. Their beautiful white trunks and dark branches mingle with the dark shadows cast upon the white snow, creating a profound beauty that is best experienced in silence.

Colorful Clouds by Kay Wyne

Colorful Clouds
36" x 18" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Original Palette Knife Painting on Heavy Duty Canvas
This medium-size canvas will look great in a room with a long and narrow vertical space. The deep vibrant colors are bouncing around....you can't tell where the clouds start and the landscape ends. The trees and leaves have thick strokes of paint...giving it a lot of texture. Please contact me if you are interested in one of my contemporary aspen paintings. Thanks for viewing this blog. Twisted by Kay Wyne

Twisted
24" x 20" Oil on Linen Gallery Wrap
Palette Knife Painting
Image looking up in the sky with the wind whipping around, trees blowing and a storm coming in. That is what I imagined when I painted this contemporary abstract. I blended the colors in the background, using wide brushes. The leaves and trees were laid in with thick layers so that there is texture on the linen. I purposely left some of the natural linen showing because I love that color. Contact Kay for more information on this painting......kay@kwyne.com or 214-532-0325. Thanks for looking.....

Dancing Clouds by Kay Wyne

Dancing Clouds
48" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
This painting is finished, signed and drying at the studio. I used some new colors, hoping that the mix of turquoise, cobalt would contrast with the yellows, ochres and oranges. The trees and falling leaves have lots of texture. This painting may be going on a trip....it needs a new home. Please contact me if you are interested in this painting or any of my art that you see on this blog.

Estes Park Landscape

Last year, Tom and I went to Estes Park, Colorado.  It is one of our treasured National Parks that I hope to return to one day.  If you ever get a chance to visit, be sure you spend a day up at Bear Lake!  Tom and I went at least two or three times.  We came away with some incredible photos for me to use for subject matter to paint.  This 11"x14" acrylic painting, "Autumn Inspiration" is inspired by one of my walks up at Bear Lake.  The aspens were just beginning to change.  The brilliant hues of the quaking leaves, against the azure sky, captured my spirit.  I suppose that's why we went back two days later to do some more photo shoots and take in the extraordinary beauty of this magical wonderland.
This  expressive painting is available on my website.  I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that inspires and uplifts your soul! - Jill
