New Textured Aspen oil painting by Niki Gulley

"Coming Together” ©2011 Niki Gulley
40” x 30” textured oil on canvas

In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up in into the treetops and the heavens above. Choosing calming greens against a lavender-blue peaceful sky and arranging the two main aspens so that they meet in the middle, suggests a feeling of togetherness. While organizing the outlying trees in a circular pattern and using thick, curving, bold orange brushstrokes, creates a joyful, playful mood.

"Aqua Dreams" oil painting by Niki Gulley

“Aqua Dreams” ©2011 Niki Gulley
36” x 60” textured oil on canvas

When we arrived at this tranquil spot, the early morning light was very cool in color, but as the sun began to rise from the horizon, it shone this beautiful warm light that shimmered on the water’s surface and cast its hope of what was to come from the brand new day. I remember the peacefulness I felt in that moment, and a sense that anything was possible. In Aqua Dreams, by showing the contrast in the cool aqua/blues in the foreground waters against the warm golden glow on the distant pond’s edge, I wanted to share that feeling of hope and promise communicated by nature.

KMD2684 Warm Fall Days by Kit Hevron Mahoney

Life seems to be amping up, and the days are filled with one activity after another. Is is just me or does the world seem to be moving faster and faster? It was such a gift to find the time to sit quietly and relive this warm and serene scene as I painted it. This fall in Colorado has been so spectacular and we have been blessed with many perfect days that I refer to as "Champagne Days" where the air is crisp, the skies are "Colorado" blue and the colors of the changing leaves are spectacular. I wish it would last forever. But since snow is in the forecast I hope my painting will keep the memory and feelings of these perfect days alive.

Aspen and Birch Tree Paintings by Jill Saur

This is a little 8"x10" palette knife oil painting that I just varnished yesterday. In its simplicity, it has just enough texture to evoke a dreamy feeling. I call it, "Summer Nuance".

This is a great time to collect original art!  www.JillSaur.com

"Autumn Splendor" textured oil painting by Niki Gulley

“Autumn Splendor” ©2011 Niki Gulley
36” x 48” textured oil on wrap around canvas • Sold

Just sold! Shimmering colors of autumn: Aspen trees quiver, their light graceful leaves tremble and quake, silver and gold, silver and gold with each light breeze.

There is the quiet energy of change coming and vibrant color charges the woods. Crisp fall mountain air, clean bright skies overhead, a band of slender straight trucks cut bright strokes of white against a dazzling tumble of green, crimson and gold.

E-mail Niki Gulley for more information on my textured oil aspen and birch tree paintings.
